I was born in 1977 in a small town in northern Italy.

But my true passion was motorcycles. 

At age 12, I was already riding and repairing them.

I used to spend my afternoons with friends, zooming down country roads, breathing in that sense of freedom that only speed can provide...
My teenage years were a carefree time, at least on the outside... 

Until around the age of 16, I began to see the uglier side of life.

Some pals of mine lost their lives in motorcycle accidents, others fell victim to heroin, a plague that was rampant in Italy at the time.

That's when I realized that life would not always be fair to everyone.

At sixteen, I dropped out of school. It all felt useless to me.

I wanted to create something for myself, and start earning money, in order to be independent.

So I began working with my father in the workshop by day, while in the evenings I would teach guitar to a bunch of kids in the village.

Music was my other passion, so much so that I had formed a hard rock band with some friends.

Yes, I had crazy long hair :D

THEN, something happened that would impact MY LIFE FOREVER.

Something tragic.

One hot summer, in August, my best friend and band co-founder took his life.

No one had seen it coming.

The two of us were like brothers.

I really could not grasp how he could have made such a senseless thing.

Even today, when I close my eyes, that moment sometimes hits me all over again. 
I was twenty-two, and the pain was too much to handle...

I locked myself away at home for weeks...

I stopped playing, I stopped going out...

I retreated into isolation, lost in my thoughts...

I realized how fucking short and unpredictable life really is. 

Today you are here, tomorrow you’re gone !

I realized that I was wasting my time and that unless I changed things, I would be stuck in that hole of a town forever.

The death of my best friend caused my mind to click: I had to get away from that place.

I moved to England, despite not knowing a single word of English.

I wanted to a fresh start, but it in the beginning it was hell.

At some point I was even living out of a cheap car I had bought with the last of my savings.

I had neither money, nor contacts.

Thankfully, before leaving for England, I had obtained a certification in Martial Arts, which allowed me to teach part-time in gyms...
I loved all styles of Martial Arts, especially Japanese and Chinese, (and most recently Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which I still practice and teach to this day), but it was a challenge earning enough money to cover my living costs...

I was aware of my potential, but every day was the same: hours spent on the tatami, hardly any money in my pocket, and zero prospects for my future...

Certainly not the life I was hoping for!
Still, martial arts taught me the very qualities that would later allow me to overturn my life: discipline, resilience, and strategy…and leverage!

In Jiu-Jitsu, just like in life, it’s not about being the strongest or the toughest. 

It’s about adaptability - knowing how to recover when you’re taken down, how to keep calm when you’re under pressure, and how to turn your setbacks into setups for success...
Originally, my plan was to open my own gym.
But there was one issue... 

By doing that, I would become chained to one place for the rest of my professional life.

And that wasn't what I wanted for myself, I was starving for freedom. 

I wanted to be able to travel and see places with my wife and my dog, while earning a living from something I had built from the ground up.

And as if that wasn’t enough..

I ended up having a major motorcycle accident and suffered a broken leg.

I had 2 accidents actually...

Oh yeah, now … that really sorted me out ! 

I could no longer teach martial arts for quite a while.

Therefore, that stream of income also dried up overnight.

Thankfully, I had set aside some savings that would allow me to survive...

After that accident (I was about 38 at the time), I realized that I could no longer base my finances on a job that depended not just on my location but, more importantly, on my physical health.

Meanwhile, I had also landed an office job in suburban London.
My boss had immediately noticed my talents and even decided to promote me to operations manager within a few months.

Still, this new career was nothing more than a bigger hamster wheel: while earning more money, I also had a lot more responsibility, a lot more stress, and hardly any time left to spend with my wife and enjoy life.

I had a steady job, but I was trapped in the rat race.

So I started looking for a business model that would grant me independence, once and for all.

So, after years of trial and error, failed books, money invested and lost... (and with no one to guide me, unfortunately)

I finally figured out – single handed – how to make a living from Self Publishing.

The first $1,000 earned in a month from my Books made my mind suddenly click.

I thought, “If I can generate $1,000 with 3 books, by publishing 30 I could make $10,000!!!

Which then ACTUALLY HAPPENED, but with less than half as many books!

At 18, you’re a bit of a loose cannon – full of beans and bouncing off the walls.

After turning 40, however, you are more aware and have a broader vision... your focus is much sharper
